About Us

Bat Shlomo Vineyards has deep ancestral roots. In 1889, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, a preeminent philanthropist involved in the establishment of the State of Israel, founded a field school to facilitate the production of wine in Israel. The school's graduates settled a nearby community named Bat Shlomo, named in honor of the Baron's mother Betty.

In 2010, entrepreneur Elie Wurtman and Napa Valley winemaker Ari Erle partnered founded the new Bat Shlomo Vineyards, revitalizing the original land and fulfilling de Rothschild's legacy. Today we are proud to feature our namesake, Betty de Rothschild, on every Bat Shlomo bottle.

Bat Shlomo Vineyards strives for excellence in all that we do, from applying ecologically sound agricultural practices to utilizing the most advanced techniques available in wine-making today. Bat Shlomo has flourished to produce some of the finest wines in Israel.

Many of our wines have been recognized internationally, and in 2019 we had the honor of presenting at the Robert Parker Matter of Taste event. The Bat Shlomo Rose was honored as one of the 5 best wines in the Middle East by Mark Squires of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. The Betty's Cuvée, Sauvignon Blanc, and most recently our Chardonnay have scored exceptionally high marks.
